Last Friday, July 3, second-year Industrial Mechatronics students at the Ford Spain Vocational Training Centre presented their end-of-programme scale models, showcasing the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout their two years of training.
During the session, the different apprentice teams explained the conception, design and technology integration process behind their projects. These scale models bring together the key disciplines covered at FDI, ranging from conventional mechanical and hydraulic systems to advanced technologies that are essential to everyday operations at our manufacturing plant, including robotics, pneumatics, automation and PLC programming.
The development of these industrial mechatronics projects provides the perfect bridge between academic theory and the reality of a smart manufacturing environment. By taking on the challenge of designing scaled prototypes that simulate real production processes, students not only consolidate high-level technical skills but also strengthen essential transferable competencies for today’s industrial sector, such as teamwork, complex problem-solving and engineering project management.
The presentations were attended by members of the Ford Almussafes management team, who had the opportunity to see first-hand the students’ technical expertise and the excellent level of preparation they have achieved by the end of their studies.
For us, learning about and recognising these projects goes far beyond our commitment to technical education in the Valencian Community. It is a valuable opportunity to connect directly with the young talent that will one day join our production lines, workshops and engineering teams, helping to shape the future of the automotive industry.
We would like to congratulate all the students on their outstanding work and thank everyone at the plant who makes this learning and collaboration ecosystem possible, ensuring it continues to be a benchmark for success. Congratulations to everyone!
